you have not experienced true fear until a poster falls down in the middle of the night
i think it’s cute when someone admits they have a crush on you
i think it’s a fucking miracle
but seriously people who are like “never choose a job for the money!” “money shouldn’t matter when you pick a career!” have never been poor in their entire lives
i will literally do anything and everything to make sure i am never poor again do not test me on this i am ready and willing to have a moral grey area in this situation
I think that advice is for people who have the choice to pick their career path. I also think people tend to pick educational pathways that give them careers that get them a lot of money. As a result, you’ll live your life doing something that gives you no motivation, no curiosity, no meaning. Day after day after day of doing (what you feel) is pointless work takes tolls on your social, emotional, psychological, and physical being.
And really? Having a lack of money is IN NO WAY an indicator of your holistic being. There are people who live with NO MONEY on purpose, like Daniel Suelo and his supporters, who makes an ART out of LIVING WITH NOTHING. There is even a community, the Possibility Alliance in Northeastern Missouri, who are THRIVING completely without large incomes (in fact, the group only makes 12,000 dollars a year for nonessential items, which is far below even “poor” standards). These kinds of people generate lives not based around money, but around relationships with each other and using what already exists to their advantage.
It all depends on your perspective.
